We're sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your pulse ox! If this is your first time using the pulse ox, please note that it will only turn on once your finger has been inserted into the clip. The button on the device is only used to change the direction of the display once it has captured a reading. We also recommend trying a new set of batteries in the event the ones provided drained during storage.
If this is not your first time using the pulse ox, or if the above tips did not work, please give the pulse ox a try on your own finger first before your child's to ensure that the device is functioning. If it is working on your finger and not your child's, your child's finger may not be properly on the sensor. Make sure that you are holding your finger in place, as the pad of the finger needs to be right on the sensor. We’ve noticed that we tend to get a better reading when you use the middle finger. It might take a few readings before you get it right. For younger children with smaller fingers, using their thumb or their big toe will work as well.
If the pulse ox will not power on after following these steps, please email us at help@blueberrypediatrics.com and include a short video of the device malfunctioning, along with your current shipping address, and we will be happy to send you a replacement if we can't get it working properly!
